Terms

You keep ownership of your content, and xmetric processes it to provide the file, analysis and sharing features you choose. The service is provided as available; review the completed evidence and limitations before relying on an answer.

Who operates xmetric?

xmetric is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Salesforce, Tableau or Microsoft.

What does the free beta provide?

xmetric is free during the beta. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results or uninterrupted service. Features may change, break or be removed. Keep your own copy of anything important, and check results before you rely on them.

Who owns the content I bring to xmetric?

You own the files, workbooks and data you bring to xmetric. We store what you save online only to provide the service to you and the people you share it with. You give us permission to store, process and display your content for that purpose, and for no other. You confirm you have the right to upload and share what you save.

What applies to files and answers in AI hosts?

You can open supported local files in the interactive xmetric board without signing in. The assistant receives supported schema and calculation definitions and the aggregates you request, as described in Privacy. Use only files you are authorized to process and share with the host. Keep your original file, review the definition, filters and completed evidence behind an answer, and check important results. Unsupported or pending calculations are not completed answers. The file app does not grant access to another company’s hosted services or prove an authenticated viewer’s permissions. Saving or sharing a board online still uses xmetric’s account and permission controls.

Which uses are permitted?

Do not use xmetric to store or share illegal content, or content that infringes someone else's rights. Do not abuse the service: no attempts to break its security or limits, overload it, access other people's data, scrape it or access it automatically at scale, or use it to send spam. Only connect databases you are authorized to use.

What am I responsible for when sharing a workbook?

You decide what to share. A public view-only link lets anyone who has it view the workbook and download the data behind it. You are responsible for what you share and with whom. You can revoke a link at any time, but copies people already downloaded cannot be recalled.

Can limits and terms change?

The beta has storage and file size limits, listed on the Privacy page, and abuse limits. We may change the limits, the service and these terms. When we change these terms, we will update this page and its date; continuing to use xmetric after that means you accept the new version.

How can I delete my account?

You can delete your own workbooks at any time. Deleting your account removes your owned workbooks, history, datasets and sharing records, as described on the Privacy page. Use Delete account in the signed-in app’s account menu, or email hello@getxmetric.com and we will delete your account.

When can xmetric suspend access?

You can stop using xmetric at any time. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. We may also end the beta or the service; if we do, we will try to give notice so you can export your work.

Which liability limits apply?

To the extent the law allows, the people behind xmetric are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or business, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim, which is nothing during the free beta. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Which terms govern use?

These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator of xmetric, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

How can I contact xmetric?

Questions about these terms: hello@getxmetric.com.

Which workflow fits my question?

Use the local-file board for questions grounded in a report; use ordinary chat for standalone calculations. Online storage and account-backed services keep their normal controls.

What else do people ask?

Can I open a .twbx without an account?

Yes, supported local files can be opened in the board without an xmetric account. Online saving and sharing retain their normal sign-in and permission controls.

Is xmetric an official Power BI Service connector?

No. xmetric is independent, and this local-file app does not grant access to another company’s hosted services.
